Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation

The Sacrament of Confirmation for the youth (7th grade – 12th grade) is a two-year commitment that includes intentional formation, prayer, and personal discernment. During this process, our youth are mentored and accompanied as they explore what it means, for them as an individual, to be called to live more deeply as a Christian missionary disciple, equipping them to live out their faith as lifelong Catholics.  The Sacrament of Confirmation is received in the winter/spring of the second year as the young person affirms that, with the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit, they want to live a Christian life as a Catholic, bearing witness to Christ in the world.

As the young person begins to prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, we ask that the parents fill out the below sacramental form by Wednesday, December 6, 2023. Prior to filling out the form, please review the information below that you will need in advance to be able to submit the form.

Baptism Information
The record for the Sacrament of Confirmation is sent to the parish where your child received their baptism. If your child was not baptized at St. Raymond Parish, you will need to provide a copy of the baptismal certificate. Please be prepared to upload a copy (jpeg, png, or pdf) of the certificate in the form. We are unable to access records from the school.

Sponsor
Candidates entering Year 1 (7th grade) need to choose a Confirmation sponsor who will guide them through the formation process. They should be available to pray with, answer questions and be a support during the candidate’s formation process and for the rest of their lives. Parents- please guide your son or daughter to prayerfully consider who they will choose as their Confirmation Sponsor.
