Dear Friends of Saint Raymond Parish,
Welcome to our website! We continually strive to live out our Parish Mission Statement:
Welcome. Love. Serve.
I invite you to discern where God is calling you to continue living that mission statement, after reflecting on God’s blessings and your personal gifts.
I truly believe that a Parish like ours is so important in our diocese and Church in the present age! We have continued to be a vibrant community because many people have come forth to share their time, talent, and treasure.
I also know that in our ever-busy world, there is the need for balance—balance of work, family, health, and other important responsibilities. It is an important reminder for us, that as baptized Catholics, our faith is not only a privilege, but also a responsibility. We have a responsibility to grow and support our community. We have a responsibility to care for those less fortunate than ourselves. We have a responsibility to nurture others in faith through Catholic education and formation. Perhaps we think of these in terms of our parish working as a whole; but we also need to think of these in terms of us as individuals and our response to the Gospel.
When we speak of ministry, it is a call and responsibility that stems from our baptism. As we continue to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vatican II, we must see the need for us to step beyond mere volunteerism, to ministerial service in our parish community and beyond. Each of us, young or old, has been called by the Lord to a Christian vocation that proclaims the Good News.
Our website showcases our one hundred-plus ministries, and allows us to discern our call as members of this faith community.
Please consider spending some time in personal discernment. Listen for God speaking to your heart. What do you have to offer? In what way are you willing to commit yourself anew to our parish?
Through our involvement in our parish and community—through service—through our love and generosity—do we truly build up the Body of Christ!
Thank you for all you do to make this a reality!
