Director Care Ministries

Valerie Kulbacki, SSJ-TOSF (Director of Care Ministries) is a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis. Sr. Val has served in parish ministry as a counselor and pastoral associate for many years prior to coming to St. Raymond’s, especially with those experiencing loss or other life challenges. Between parish ministry experiences, she served her religious congregation for two terms of elected leadership as Vice-President, and as a member of the National Board and Chair of Region 8 (Illinois) for the Leadership Conference of Women Religious.

Having grown up in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago within walking distance of Comiskey Park, Val ‘s a staunch White Sox fan, but would support any Chicago team that would be in the World Series! She loves to read, is a faithful treadmill walker (most days) and enjoys good food shared with friends. As a member of a Franciscan congregation, one of her special memories is spending time in Assisi, Italy retracing the footsteps of Saints Francis and Clare.

Val holds a Masters Degree in Counseling from DePaul University and a Certificate in Spiritual Companioning from the Diocese of Joliet. She is also an Affiliate Staff Member at Mayslake Ministries, Lombard, Illinois.
