Rev. Steven G. Dombrowski (aka: Father Steve)Pastor
Steven G. Dombrowski was born at Illinois Masonic hospital on June 18, 1963. He grew up on the North Side of Chicago – the first born of Anthony and Carol. Being fourth-generation Polish on both sides of his family, part of his legacy was one that was rich in the Catholic Faith. His father was the youngest of 13, while his mother was the fourth of five; so he has a large extended family.
Fr. Steve was baptized at St. Benedict Parish (Irving Park), then later attended St. Andrew School through fourth grade. It was at this time that he became aware of a possible call to the priesthood. From fifth grade on, he attended St. Viator School, and after graduation began in the Archdiocesan seminary system – attending Quigley North, Niles College of Loyola, and Mundelein Seminary.
Fr. Steve was ordained on May 20, 1989 by Joseph Cardinal Bernardin. His assignments have been St. Theresa (Palatine), St. Raymond, Prince of Peace (Lake Villa) and St. Edna (Arlington Heights).
In the past twenty years, Fr. Steve has had many different experiences in the parishes to which he has been assigned. Among these have been administrator at St. Raymond (1996), deanery ministry commission, parish leadership, parish faith formation, youth ministry coordinator. He has also had the opportunity for continuing education, which included two Sabbatical experiences – one in Rome, and one in the Western United States.
His interests include travel, music, theatre, cooking, dining out, and working out (especially yoga and racquetball).
His official start date at St. Raymond was July 13, 2009.
