My wife Carole and I have been members of St. Raymond’s for 30 years. We have two daughters, Jean and Sara. Jean is a sign language
interpreter and was married to Will Cavers at St. Raymond in July. Sara lives in Boston and works for a marketing company. Carole was a junior high school special
education teacher and a stay at home mom. I taught elementary and junior high school for several years. In addition, I spent 23 years at Panasonic in sales and marketing.
Two years ago I escaped from the business world. Over these past years, Carole and I have been involved in a number of ministries and experiences at St. Raymond.
Recent years have found us focusing on the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). It is my privilege to serve on the Parish Council for a third year.

Youth Formation Commission
My wife and I have been members of the St. Raymond's for the past nine years. I became a catechist when my daughter was making her first communion and have been teaching 6th grade religious education for the past four years. Growing up in a mission church in the Peoria Diocese, my goal was to find a parish that would offer the warmth of a small town church and the ability to explore all the great opportunities that parish life has to offer. I believe that St. Raymond's offers both.

Parish Life Commission
St. Raymond Parish has been an important part of my life and my family’s life for quite some time! I am a graduate of St. Raymond—Class of 1976!
My husband, Chris, and I were married at St. Raymond in 1987. We have two daughters who graduated from St. Raymond. Kristen is currently a freshman at Saint Louis University
and Caroline is a freshman at Prospect High School. I have been involved in many activities at St. Raymond throughout the years. I have been a library volunteer, an Art
Volunteer in the Classroom, a room mom, Moms Plus leader, and a cheerleading coordinator. I have also been involved in Parish Life working on events like Mardi Gras, "Ray"vinia,
and the Youth Theatre props and stage crew. Chris has been involved in all of the family’s activities particularly the Youth Theatre productions. I enjoy being a Parish Life
Representative on the Parish Council and continuing my involvement in the great community of St. Raymond!

Parish Life Commission
My husband Bill and I, along with our 18 year old twins Katie and Dave, have been members of St. Raymond Parish for 18 years. When we
moved in across the street we had no idea that we had stumbled upon such a vibrant and faith filled community. I joined Moms Plus Group 13 soon after we moved in and
continue to meet with these same women. When the children attended St. Raymond School we became involved in many activities there from coaching to Market Day. Now
that our children are off to college we are involved in Newcomers and are both Eucharistic ministers. I am thrilled and honored to be a part of the Parish Council
for such a wonderful parish that we call home.
Carrie Conlon
Worship Commission
About ten years ago, I started to come to St. Raymond with my now husband, Dan Conlon, and his parents. Baptized, raised, and confirmed as
Presbyterian, I started my faith journey into the Catholic Church as a candidate in RCIA. The energy of the Faith community made St. Raymond feel like home. The faith
journey continues with RCIA as a member of the team. I am into my second year of a two-year term on the Parish Council as a representative from the Worship Commission.
We, at St. Raymond, are very fortunate to have the various ministries and liturgy experiences that extend beyond the weekend liturgies.

Youth Formation Commission
After seventeen years, my husband, Leonard Gambino, three children and I are happy to call St. Raymond’s faith community our home. Joseph, a Saint
Raymond alum, is a sophomore at Prospect High School. He was ecstatic about the Mission trip this past summer and is ready for the next mission trip. Joe is a teen lector.
Elizabeth is a third grader and Michael is a first grader at St. Raymond’s. I am a psychologist with a group private practice in the community. I have enjoyed working in the
school bringing art into the classroom, helping both boy and girl scouts earn their religious medals, participating in family masses, lectoring, and most recently joining the
monthly adult choir. It is my privilege to begin my third year serving as the Youth Commission representative.
Kathy Hemler
Human Concerns Commission
When my husband Chuck and I joined St. Raymond's almost 25 years ago, we were looking for a caring and involved community where we could grow
in our faith. St. Raymond's has helped us do that, and that growth has led to our involvement in ministry. We have been CFM members, Branches leaders, Eucharist ministers,
part of Christ Renews His Parish, and I am now a Minister of Care as well as coordinator of St. Raymond's Bereavement Ministry. Chuck and I recently celebrated our 41st
wedding anniversary, have 4 married children, three of whom live out of state, and have 8 wonderful grandchildren, ages 17 to our newest grandson born the middle of August.
This is my second year as a Human Concerns representative on the Parish Council, and I look forward to this opportunity for additional growth and service to the St. Raymond community.

Adult Formation
When we joined St. Raymond parish more than twenty years ago, my wife Kathy and I were looking for an active and caring faith community for our
family where our faith would grow and we could help others to grow at the same time. St. Raymond’s has met that goal, so we feel it is important to continue to do our share.
Therefore I am pleased once again to be a representative from the Adult Formation Commission to the Parish Council. Over the years we have been Branches leaders, CFM members,
Eucharistic Ministers, and actively involved with the Christ Renews His Parish weekends. I formerly served as a Parish Council member and chairperson, was a member of the
Revitalization Committee, a PADS volunteer, and for a number of years have actively supported the Men’s CRHP program. I grew up in Pennsylvania, graduated from the University
of Notre Dame with a degree in chemical engineering, and, when not at St. Raymond’s, work as an engineer for UOP in Des Plaines. We have four married adult children who grew
up calling St. Raymond’s their church and parish, but who have all moved elsewhere. We are currently proud grandparents of eight, ranging in age from two months to seventeen years.
Valerie Yokie
Office of the Pastor
I am a Parish Council appointee from the Office of the Pastor. I live in Glenview and joined St. Raymond’s Parish 6 years ago when I moved
back to the Chicago area and was looking for a place to worship that had good liturgies and opportunities for the laity to become involved. St. Raymond’s has been a great
place for me! After many years in Higher Education as a University Administrator, serving as a Dean at Loyola, Chicago’s Rome Center, Marquette, and Georgetown, I have spent
20+ years as a Mary Kay Sales Director. I have 2 adult children, whom my late husband and I adopted as babies from Mother Teresa’s orphanage in India. At St. Raymond’s, I
completed the Diocese’s Lay Ministry Called and Gifted Program, was a member of the Beloved Retreat Team, and am a Eucharistic Minister, a Minister of Care, a member of the
Women’s Small Spirituality Formation Team, and represent St. Raymond’s on the Archdiocese Deanery Pastoral Council.
