Parish Council

The Parish Pastoral Council is the primary advisory body to the pastor. Twenty parishioners make up the council, each serving a three year term. Each of the five commissions discerns two members to represent them on the council. The Pastor appoints four at-large members to the council. The council operates in a collaborative manner and is committed to a consensus model of advising the Pastor. The Parish Council is responsible for the overall mission of our parish community, the continuing development of our parish vision, reviewing long-range capital projects and policies pertaining to parish life.

My name is Joel Barbel.  My wife Kelly and I have been parishioners since 2003.  We have two children who are currently attending Saint Raymond School.  I grew up in Aurora, IL and attended Catholic grade school and high school as well as graduating from Marquette University.  I have been involved with several Parish and School committees over the last several years and I am currently a member of the School Advisory Committee and an adult leader with Saint Raymond’s Boy Scout Troop.  Kelly and I enjoyed our time as Branches leaders and I look forward to continuing to serve our community on the Parish Council.

My name is Libby Bullock. I am happy to be part of this energetic group and of this parish that my family and I call home. My husband Brad and I have been part of St. Raymond for 16 years. We have 4 children who attend or attended school here and continue to be part of various ministries in the parish. I have been part of parish life for many years and now office of the pastor. I welcome suggestions and outreach from you to help us make our parish the best it can be.

My Name is Cheryl Costello, I have been in the parish since 1960 and I attended St Raymond’s School. I am part of the Music Ministry, sing in the Parish Choir and I am a Cantor. In addition I belong to the Ecumenical Group with St Raymond’s and St Mark’s Lutheran Church and the Worship Commission. St Raymond’s has been a big part of my life and I am looking forward to serving on the Parish Council to give back to this community of faith that has given me so much.

My name is Theresa Drangines.  I have been a member of St. Raymond for 40 years.  My 4 children graduated from St. Raymond.  I look forward to serving on the Council.

My name is Lorelei McDermott and my husband Tim and I were married at St Zachary’s Church. I serve on the Office of the Pastor and have been a member of St. Raymond for 28 years.  My three children went to our local public schools and were involved in the Religious Education and Branches Programs.  I love to cantor masses and have also been involved with Parish Transformation, Outreach Ministry, Branches, Kairos, St. Raymond/St. Mark Ecumenical and CRHP.  I am encouraged to be involved so that others will feel the same sense of belonging and support that I feel here at St. Raymond.

My name is Evelyn Mutzabaugh.  My husband, Dennis, and I have been parishioners of St. Raymond for 40 years; our 3 sons have graduated from St. Raymond School.  I have been spiritually enriched by participation in CHRP, choir, CLOW, lector service, ministry of care, Eucharistic ministry/Adoration, Rosary Makers, and various volunteer opportunities at the school.   I pray that by the grace of God my service on this Council will bless our parish.

My name is Kathy Nuelle and I am honored to serve on Parish Council. My husband Todd and I have six children, five of the six have already graduated from St. Raymond and the sixth is currently attending.  We have been members of the parish since 1994 and have enjoyed ever minute of it.  St. Raymond’s has enriched our lives on so many levels and I hope, by serving on parish council, to help other parishioners feel this same wonderful sense of family and love.

My name is Krissy Olson, My husband George and I have been parishioners at St. Raymond for 24 years.  We have 4 children that have all attended St. Raymond school.  I am beginning my second year with the Parish Council on the Parish Life Committee.

My name is Father Edward Panek.  The church, specifically the Roman Catholic Church is undergoing a time of hope and possibility amidst the contemporary challenges of our age.  It is an exciting time to see how we (and our community) respond. I am currently in my third year at St. Raymond, and am an ordained priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago (1991). In the past I served as pastor of St. Thomas Becket in Mount Prospect, associate pastor at St. Monica and St. Barbara Churches in Chicago. Previously I served as Dean of Formation, faculty member and spiritual director at Archbishop Quigley Preparatory HS Seminary. I completed a master degree program in Spirituality and Pastoral Care from the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. Along with my current parish assignment I serve as Dean of Vicariate 1-F.

My name is Dolores Paque’.  I joined St. Raymond’s Parish in 2012, shortly after I moved back to Illinois from South Carolina.  I am widowed, have one married daughter and two grandchildren who reside in SC. At present I am mostly retired although I still offer spiritual direction and the occasional retreat.  St. Raymond’s is a good fit for me as a parish. I am grateful to participate in worship here and to volunteer as a Minister of Care at NWC hospital.

My name is Gianna Russo. I attended Saint Raymond School starting in 2004 and graduated in 2015. I am currently a junior at Prospect High School. This is my first time serving on the Parish Council. I am a Teen Representative and hope to convey the ideas and beliefs of my fellow teens of the parish.

My name is Carl Wrede.  My wife Jodi and I have been members of St. Raymond’s since 1998.  Three of our four children have graduated from St. Raymond’s School and the fourth is currently attending now.  We are so grateful for the blessing that St. Raymond has been to each of us and the feeling of community we have experienced is amazing.  I look forward to serving on the council this year and hope to give something back to the parish that has given us so much.
