Training for all Ministers of Care is done at the Deanery level in September-October. Interviews for this ministry are scheduled in the summer, and training classes typically run for six consecutive Mondays or Tuesdays. Meetings are rotated among the various parishes in the Deanery. Please watch the Bulletin announcements concerning training time and location for the fall 2009 series. If you think you may be interested in this ministry and would like to know more about the “nuts and bolts” of its operation, please call the Minister of Care Coordinator, Sr. Val Kulbacki. She can arrange for you to “shadow” a Minister of Care at a hospital, nursing home or home visitation. Ministers of Care are also called on to assist with the Community Masses when the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is administered. These typically take place three times a year.
